Ute Valley Park Colorado Springs Photo Session | Birtsch Family

Photo sessions with mountain backdrops are admittedly tough in the mornings from Colorado Springs. Since the mountain views are to the west, morning light just blinds the subjects instead of glowing behind their heads as it does in the evening. Thankfully, I’ve learned the trick of doing more candid photos of people interacting with each other in the full sun instead of trying to smile and squinting right at me. Then we catch the rest of the photos in an area that works better lighting-wise for the morning.

The colors from the Birtsch family’s session may be some of my favorites I’ve ever captured and edited. The morning light just turned out so striking and bold! Let me know what you think!

And be sure to jump on the waitlist for my family mini sessions if you’re wanting something short and easy as I usually offer a date in the spring, one in the fall, and then indoor holiday minis at my studio each year. Hope to work with you soon!
