I first met Lauren in middle school where we both attended (in Colorado). Somehow the stars aligned and we both found ourselves in Kansas City… me a wedding photographer and her getting married! I always feel so absolutely lucky when people decide to trust me to capture their big day, and it was just an extra cherry on top (or maybe whipped cream since I don’t love cherries) that I got to do it for someone I know and who is as sweet as Lauren is!

Lauren and Phillip met online (via Bumble). Their first date was at Casual Animal Brewery in the KC Crossroads. They didn’t waste any time going on their second date and now look where they are!
When Phillip proposed, they both had the day off. He planned to recreate their favorite date: breakfast at Chez Elle, mini golf in Parkville, and Casual Animal. Before a surprise dinner, Phillip got down on one knee and popped the question. They arrived at Union Station afterwards and were greeted (to Lauren’s surprise) by both of their families to celebrate!
Lauren says that Phillip is the most kind and thoughtful person. He truly cares for the people (and pets) in his life and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure that they have their needs met before his own. He is funny, athletic, smart, and hardworking. Phillip describes Lauren is a strong and caring woman who manages to balance an impressive career and be a patient loving partner. Always offering support, guidance, and lots of laughs. She is a beautiful person inside and out.While we have had some fun adventures together, we love our date nights where we order take out (preferably Chinese), watch some sports, and relax with the pets. If we had to pick a favorite date/trip it would probably be going to Oklahoma City this past year. Lauren says Phillip is so caring. He always makes her feel loved, protected, and cared for. Phillip describes Lauren as so sweet and kind. She constantly puts others before herself. Lauren’s family on her dad’s side are K-State fans. Phillip’s sister went to KU and his parents are KU basketball fans. So while they are rivals, they each have family ties to the other school!
When they imagined their wedding day, this sweet couple said they wanted it to be romantic and a celebration of their friends and family that helped shape them throughout our lives and bring them together. They didn’t want it to be stressful and wanted people to leave knowing that they threw a fun party! I can say firsthand that their dream for their big day came true!
