People are often worried if the forecast shows clouds for the day of their photo session… it’s certainly a problem if it’s totally gloomy out, but even total cloud cover is okay if it’s still somewhat bright! This session is a perfect example. The entire sky was overcast the whole time we were shooting, of course it would have been nice to see the sun a little, but we were still able to get bright, colorful images that made it still feel like the joyous occasion that it was: Brent and Annie’s engagement photos!
Brent went to Seminary with my husband so it was extra special when they reached out to see if I could capture their wedding next year. They currently live 6 hours away from Kansas City so I was honored that they would make a weekend trip in for their engagement session! These two are so kind and fun-loving… they were giggling the whole time and it was so obvious how much they care for each other.
We used St Peter’s Catholic Church near Brookside, KCMO as the backdrop for the first half of the session and the Loose Park Rose Garden for the second since the flowers are in bloom! The church was a new spot for me and I definitely fell in love… the light stonework, arches, and doorways, combined with the renovated glass space in the middle are seriously stunning!
