So here is something that you may or may not know about me: I was the historian for Student Council in high school, which basically means that I made videos highlighting activities and friendships throughout the school year. That being said, I was never very good at video and had ZERO photography experience or knowledge at that time as a foundation. I did take a couple video courses in college and greatly enjoyed them, but never put them to much use afterwards. Recently, Preston has done some videography projects for his job and it inspired me to shoot a video of our spontaneous camping trip and his fun coffee making process…I have a ton to learn in that world, but in the meantime it is a fun hobby! I was surprised at how intriguing I found the correlation between photography and videography to be, more on the later. I can’t promise they’ll be much good, but I’m sure there will be more fun videos to come! Scroll down for the camping video…

As for camping (and hiking, I think they go hand in hand)…it’s one of my favorite things in the world. Never do I feel more relaxed or rejuvenated. This was our pup Bentley’s first experience camping and, overall, I would say it was a success! Never mind the fact that I only got a couple hours of sleep as I tried to keep him from barking and waking up those in the campsites around us….. he had a BLAST and was so tired he slept the entire next day so that’s a win in my book. Knob Noster State Park was a gorgeous spot and an hour was the perfect distance from our house in Kansas City for a quick getaway. The campsites were a little too close together and you could hear the highway a bit from the tent, but other than that it was a 5 star experience.
