The Pinery at the Hill Colorado Springs Wedding | Bryan & Carissa

The Pinery at the Hill Wedding

Bryan & Carissa got married on the most beautiful, fall day in Colorado Springs at The Pinery on the Hill. It also happened to be the most popular wedding day of the year because of the fun date (10/10/2020) so it was pretty cool to think about how many other couples were saying their vows in the same timeframe after such a chaotic, uncertain year of planning.

These two were so wonderful to work with and even though the first time I met them in person was the morning of their wedding, we clicked immediately and were able to pull off a totally smooth day of celebration! I’ll share more of their personal story throughout this post, but first here is a shoutout to a couple of the wonderful vendors who helped make their big day so perfect!

Venue: The Pinery at the Hill

Bryan and Carissa are both from Colorado and currently live in Aurora. Bryan was born in Jacksonville Florida and spent most of his life in Aurora. Carissa was born in Colorado Springs but primarily grew up in Virginia before her family moved back. They met through a mutual friend who used to host weekly game nights on Saturdays and hit it off right away!

Bryan is an Autobody Collision Tech. His passion and hobby is just about anything car related. He loves working on them, watching them race, watching them get built on TV shows, building mini models, etc.

Carissa is a scheduler for prefabricated trusses and wall panels. Her passions and hobbies include animals and languages. She is currently fluent in Spanish but is also working on Italian and French. She loves to learn about different animals, watch vet related tv shows, and build terrariums for exotic amphibians/reptiles.

The engagement story! As told by Carissa:

“We had planned a long weekend in Colorado Springs over Memorial Day weekend in 2018. He kept giving little hints about a couple of surprises he had planned for Memorial Day. We spent the weekend spelunking in Cave of the Winds, seeing the Royal Gorge, flying in a helicopter, walking around Frontier Days in Old Colorado City, and finding some wonderful restaurants. On the Monday, Memorial Day, we ended up back down in Canon City where he surprised her with an off road jeep tour through Red Canyon Park. The tour company was in on his surprise and figured out a way to give us a Jeep to ourselves without other customers. We got up to the top of the park where there is this magnificent stone archway over looking a large valley where we were allowed to get out and explore. The tour driver excused him self and disappeared. He got down on one knee and proposed directly under the archway and she said yes. Our driver was discreetly taking pictures from above the archway. We celebrated after the tour by going to Holy Cross Abbey and Winery and partaking in their VIP tasting.”

Carissa describes Bryan as kind and hardworking, while Bryan describes her as loving and spontaneous. Carissa loves that Bryan always takes care of her. He’s always doing small things to help her out or make sure she is comfortable without her having to ask. Bryan loves that Carissa is detail oriented. She’s always thinking ahead of things and working it through from every angle.

Their favorite kind of date nights are always something hands on. They both enjoy creating or building and their absolute favorite date so far was on Valentine’s this year when they did a paint and sip activity.

When I asked them what they envisioned for their wedding day, they said:

“Everyone being together, laughing, having a good time, spending time with loved ones and creating memories.”

I can tell you firsthand that their vision came to fruition on that beautiful fall day! Nothing but joy in the air and I was so grateful to be part of it and get to help them remember it for years to come!
