In the middle of one of the rainiest seasons I’ve experienced in my 4 years in Kansas City, the sun came out on the day of this session as if solely to celebrate Molly and Shawn’s engagement!! I adore shooting on Sunday evenings because it is always so quiet in the city and this day was no exception. It was like we had the whole Crossroads to ourselves so we used the ivy walls and a bunch of other nooks within walking distance before switching outfits and utilizing the outside of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts as the sun got a little lower in the sky! Thankfully there wasn’t an event going on there either – just another stroke of luck!

Molly and Shawn are doing a destination wedding in Florida next year, but I was honored to get to capture the start of this new journey together here in their home city (or at least the closest city to their hometown!). They were so good-natured and we had a blast… we got a particularly high number of steps in so I was grateful they were so up for the walking in order to get so much variety!
