Weddings + Engagements

Colorado Wedding Photographer at The Stanley | Chance and Kayla

For my last trip of the year from Colorado Springs back to Kansas City, I got to capture this amazing couple’s big day! When Kayla first reached out to me, we did a Discovery Call to chat and see if we would be a good fit. Typically the calls take 15-20 minutes, but when we ended up talking for almost an hour, we knew without a doubt that we would have such a wonderful time together!

Chance and Kayla are high school sweethearts and are every bit as obsessed with traveling to National Parks as my husband and I. Kayla works in Human Resources by day and says she is a traveler and crafter by night while Chance is an accountant by profession and a golfer by passion!

“Chance is a treasure. He’s always fun to be around and can make a joke out of anything. He makes me so happy, we could be sitting watching a movie and he’ll start singing or he’ll say let’s go to Target (he also loves Target). I don’t know how to describe it, but when we are together, it just clicks.”

“Kayla is kind and caring, always knows how to make me smile and laughs at my jokes (who can blame her though?)”

Chance

The engagement story in a nutshell, as told by Kayla:

“Chance had been stung by some sort of large mountain wasp (he’s pretty allergic too), so he’d been fast asleep in a Benadryl coma for the 2 hours leading up to the proposal. After a short and groggy hike, we found a beautiful waterfall and were going to take pictures. While I got the selfie-stick ready, he grabbed the ring and got down on one knee!”

“When Chance gets excited. He just gets more fun.”

Kayla

“Kayla always knows how to calm me down and keep me from getting too stressed out over the little things:

When I asked these two what they envisioned for their wedding day, they said, “Surrounded by all of our friends and family having an absolute blast!” I can tell you firsthand that their vision came true. It was an absolutely perfect day and I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to be part of it!

I truly believe images become part of your legacy and how you are remembered. I loved seeing the joy and celebration of this monumental day for Chance and Kayla and knowing that they will be able to share it for generations to come through their images!
