I learned two things yesterday at this maternity photo session in Downtown Kansas City. 1) Brittany looks better pregnant with twins than I do without being pregnant at all. 2) When it comes to photo locations, you never know unless you ask! Brittany wanted several silhouette images with some sort of curtain or window, which led us to search for an indoor location. This always poses a challenge, but I was amazed that the first place I asked (a wedding venue called The Grand Hall at Power & Light) happily let us shoot in their incredible space!! You might think it’s odd to shoot maternity photos in a event venue… but take a look at the pictures below and let me know if you change your mind 😉 The image above is in their beautiful bridal suite!!
I can’t tell you how special it was to be able to capture these images for Brittany. I met her when she hired me for her first maternity session, but sadly lost the baby so we did a couple’s session for her and her husband. Then I got to celebrate with them when they were pregnant with River, met him soon after he was born for newborn pictures and celebrated his first birthday with some images as well! So yeah… I’d say this was a pretty amazing session to be able to do after the past few years of getting to know this sweet, genuine family of three, soon to be FIVE!!! I have officially created a tag on my website for the Link family, so at the very end of this post you can find links to the rest of their sessions if you want to follow their beautiful story from the beginning (or at least the beginning of when I met them haha).
