Weddings + Engagements

The Beck Event Space Spring Wedding, Independence, Missouri | Alix & Julie

I’ve been friends with Julie for a couple years now and let me tell you… she is a GEM. Her kind demeanor and adventurous spirit are inspiring and I feel like we understand each other so well as fellow Enneagram 7s! I knew it would take someone special to win her heart and I couldn’t be happier that she found Alix – who is equally as kind and caring! One of Julie’s favorite things about him is that he loves people well. It was obvious the first time she heard him talk about his students (he is a teacher) and the first time she saw him engage and interact with them. He goes above and beyond to express his care for people and is always willing to jump in and help others. She shared with me that Alix is a really hard worker, that he’s always open to learning or trying new things and doesn’t really shy away from any sort of adventure (a must in my mind if he’s going to work with Julie!). He has an incredible heart and is a really giving person.

Alix shared with me that Julie is always looking out for the best interests of others. She is always willing to go the extra mile to make someone feel loved and cared for. She is extremely dedicated and never shies away from a challenge or task put before her. One of his favorite things about her is her smile. Not only her physical smile, but also the ways in which she makes him smile! She has a wonderful sense of humor, but is also a great listener and is always able to find new ways to make him smile.

One of their very favorite experiences together so far was a trip to Colorado that they took over Thanksgiving last year. They got to learn how to ski together and it was good to see each other in several different settings out of the norm! It was an opportunity for them to do something a little out of both of their comfort zones and learn new things about each other, as well as enjoying time with each other away from every day life!

During their dating relationship, every time Alix had a serious question for Julie, he would start by saying, “can I ask you a question?” So it was only natural that at the end of a day off of work together, after exploring the Kaw Point area and pulling Julie off to the side of the trail, he said “can I ask you a question?” before getting down on one knee to propose <3

Their biggest expectation for their wedding day was that it would be meaningful and fun and Julie made a point to keep things simple and focus on what matters, which I adore!!

Thanks to Julie & Alix for letting me play such an amazing role in their big day! I couldn’t be happier that they found each other or more thankful for their friendship.
