Wow wow wow, I loved this session so much! We went to the Crossroads + Downtown Kansas City since the trees in the parks are all dead this time of year and boy was it photogenic… I can’t believe I had never used this famous side of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts before!! This is going to sound ridiculous, but I’ve been wanting to make an image of a couple on the very corner with the Main Street sign in the background for over a year so I’m pumped that I also finally got to do that! We planned this session to end in that spot right before sunset, which worked out perfectly; I couldn’t have asked for better light! We also got lucky because we had a high of 50 degrees that day at the beginning of February and the next day it snowed and was somewhere close to 15 degrees with crazy wind chill… dodged a bullet there! 

Risa is a photographer herself and I actually know her from the Kansas City Art Institute where we have both been working towards our Photography Certificates (last class in March!!). 

Okay, last thing before you scroll through these beauties… let’s talk about STYLE, shall we?! Risa and Aaron kindly let me help them select their outfits in order to create elegant images that complemented the dazzling aesthetic of the city lights and I’m so in love with the results 🙂 Here’s to encouraging more of my clients to do their sessions in the city and use the excuse to dress up!!
