I play in a volleyball league with Sara each week and I finally got to meet Jefferson at their engagement session!! They requested Loose Park since they live super close and have spent a lot of time running in the area so it’s special to them. Afterwards, we went downtown to the KC Power & Light District to capture some elegant, urban photos. I so appreciate people like this who don’t take themselves too seriously and just enjoy having fun!! After many cloudy sessions in a row, I was grateful for a sunny day to add some warmth and light up my backgrounds. At our Main Street spot for the second half of our session, the sun shines from the side, which I always try to avoid in order to stay away from weird shadows on faces, so the trick to getting this even lighting here is to wait until the sun just barely dips behind the buildings!!

My favorite fact so far about these two is that Sara was a history major in college and she is marrying someone named Jefferson Adams 😀 I can’t wait for their Labor Day Weekend wedding next year at the Terrace on Grand!
